What is Firehouse Ministries All About?

Firehouse of God Ministries is a non-denominational church that was started in Rock Falls, Illinois in March of 2004 by Pastor Brian Tribley in a little rental building. The purpose of starting the ministry was to reach out to those in the community who are struggling with serious issues in their lives and show them a better way of life by serving God.

Pastor Brian is a fireman who enjoys tying together saving souls and firefighting. Why We Do What We Do and You Can Too!

What Do We Do?

We feed the hungry a free meal 5 days a week and house the homeless in our Rescue Missions.  Our Evangelism program consists of outreach in the community using fire truck rides, water games, sermons, and inflatables to bring joy to families.  This summer we are working together with other churches' youth and adults to beautify Rock Falls through cleanup and landscaping.  Our fire museum is open by appointment with antique trucks, firefighting memorabilia, toys, and tools.  We also open several times a year for free family fun including fire safety training, pictures with the Rock Falls Pirsch Fire Engine, free lunch, and more.  We continue to participate in delivering lunches for Let's Feed Our Children three days a week during the summer.

Why?

We want to be a light in our community and provide for the needs we see that are unmet whether it?s feeding someone who is hungry, bringing a smile to a child?s face, or making our city more beautiful through a cleanup project.  It gives you joy when you know you?re making a difference in someone?s life or in a community.  We want people to see who we are through our deeds, and ask for the reason behind them, which is Jesus who lives in us.

How?

How do we do what we do?  We are not a big, wealthy church.  Basically, we pray the resources in.  We pray the volunteers in.  One of the cool things about having a small church is we have the opportunity to really see God work. When the freezers for our Feeding Program are starting to look empty, we get a phone call, and instantly they?re filled with good things to eat.  When we have a financial need, we pray.  The people in our area are wonderfully supportive financially and these ministries would not be possible without their help. It is a great builder of our faith when we see God provide in unique ways.

You Can Too!

Look around you.  What needs do you see on daily or weekly basis in the community?  What small or large part can you have in filling those needs?  Whether you do it by yourself or join several organizations in working together, it?s really not that difficult if you have the desire and faith.  We?re not a bunch of people with extensive training in the areas of service we do.  Anyone with gifts and talents can be used by God.  When God calls you to a task, He provides the resources and the skills to accomplish it.   Are you available and willing?  Ask God how He wants YOU to meet a need today!

Titus 3:14 And let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful.

Our outreach ministries consist of:

Dinner Program - serving free supper five days a week, Monday through Friday from 5:00pm to 6:00pm - the only qualification to attend is to be hungry!

Men's Rescue Missions - we house up to eleven men from one night to as long as a year giving them moral and spiritual support while helping to get their lives back together and go back into the community as a more responsible person.

Council House - we assumed responsibility for the Council House on July 1, 2011 that houses eight men presently who are employed at Self-Help Enterprises - we have a caretaker on site 24 hours, 7 days per week to cook and serve meals, give rides to doctors and events, and moral and spiritual support

Community Outreach Events (Evangelism Ministry) - we attend events in our community and surrounding area at churches, fundraisers, community events, nursing homes, and birthday parties - anywhere we are invited!  We take with us to these events our fire truck to give rides, water fun and games using the fire truck hoses, inflatable slide, smoke house, moon jump, obstacle course and water slide.

Fire Truck Evangelism - especially for the kids!  We provide children's visual sermons, the most popular being, The Armor of God, Ventilation, The Fiery Darts and more.  The kids actually get to wear a fireman's uniform complete with boots and hat as they participate in these sermons.

Let's Feed Our Children - we participate three days a week during the summer by delivering lunches to four locations in Rock Falls.

Firehouse Ministries Fire Museum at 403 W. 2nd St. in Rock Falls, open May through October, by appointment, and for special events!

All of the programs at the Firehouse of God are managed and carried out by volunteers- just people with big hearts who care deeply for their fellow brothers and sisters.

We love to see souls saved and people baptized!

What Do We Believe?

1)      THE SCRIPTURES INSPIRED

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God

to men, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and superior

to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason (2 Tim.

3:15, 17; 1 Pet. 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12).

2)      THE ONE TRUE GOD

The one true God has revealed Himself as embodying the

principles of relationship and association, by

simultaneously existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deut.

6:4; Mark 12:29; Isaiah 43:10-11; Matt. 28:19).

3)      MAN:  HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION

Man was created good and upright, for God said, ?Let us make

man in our image and after our likeness.?  But man, by

voluntary transgression, fell, and his only hope of redemption

is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God (Gen. 1:26-31; 3:17; Rom.

5:12-21).

4)      THE SALVATION OF MAN

A)    Conditions of Salvation

The Grace of God, which brings salvation, has appeared to all

men, through the preaching of repentance toward God and

through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; man is saved by the

washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, and

being justified by grace, has become heir of God according

to the hope of eternal life (Titus 2:11, 3:5-7; Rom. 10:13-15;

Luke 25:47).

B)     Evidences of Salvation

The inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the

direct witness of the Spirit (Rom. 8:16).  The outward evidence

to all men is a life of holiness (1 Thess. 4:7; 2 Tim. 1:9).

5)      BAPTISM IN WATER

The ordinance of baptism by burial with Christ should be

observed (as commanded in the Scriptures) by all who have

repented of their sins and in their hearts have believed on

Christ as their Savior and Lord.

6)      THE LORD?S SUPPER (COMMUNION)

The Lord?s Supper, consisting of the elements, bread and fruit

of the vine, is the symbol expressing our sharing in a

memorial to His suffering and death, and prophecy of His

second coming, and is enjoined to all believers ?until He

comes? (John 6:48, 51, 53-57; Luke 22:19,20: 2 Pet. 1:4; 1 Cor.

11:25).

7)      THE PROMISE OF THE FATHER

All believers should ardently expect and earnestly seek the

Promise of the father, which is the baptism in the Holy Spirit

and fire.  With it comes the infilling of power for life and

service, and the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the

world of the ministry (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; 1 Cor. 12:1-31).

8)      SANCTIFICATION PROCESS

By the power of the Holy Spirit we strive to obey the command,

?Be ye holy for I am holy.?  Sanctification is the will of God for

all believers, and should be earnestly pursued by walking in

obedience to God?s Word (Heb. 12:14; 1 Pet. 1:15-16; 1 Thess.

5:23-24;  1 John 2:6).

9)      THE CHURCH

The church is the holy Body of Christ, the habitation of God

through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the

fulfillment of her great commission.  Each believer is an

integral part of the church, and their names are written in the

Lamb?s Book of Life.

10)  MINISTRY

Divinely called and scriptural ordained ministry has been

provided by our Lord for a two-fold purpose: 1) The

evangelization of the world, and 2) The edification of the Body

of Christ (Mark 15:15, 20; Ephes. 4:11-13.

11)  DIVINE HEALING

Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement

of Christ and is the privilege of all believers (Isaiah 53:4,5;

Matt. 8:16, 17; Mark 16:18; John 4:14).

12)  THE BLESSED HOPE

The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ

and their translation, together with those who are alive and

remain unto the Lord, is imminent and is the blessed hope of

the church (1 Thess. 4:16; Rom. 6:23; Titus 2:13; 1 Cor. 15:51-

52).

13)  THE MILLENIAL REIGN OF JESUS

The revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ from heaven, the

salvation of national Israel, and the millennial reign of Christ

on the earth are Scriptural promises and our hope

 2 Thess. 1:7; Rev. 19:11-16; Rom. 11:25; Rev. 20:1-7).

14)  THE LAKE OF FIRE

The devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, and

whosoever is not found written in the Lamb?s Book of Life

shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake

which burns fire and brimstone, which is the second death

(Rev. 19:20, 20:10-15).

15)  THE NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH

We, as promised in the Scriptures, look for a new heaven and

a new earth wherein righteousness dwells (2 Pet. 3:13; Rev.

21:1).

16)  THE GIFT OF TONGUES AND TONGUES

The gift of tongues is a spiritual gift given to some believers

when they are baptized in the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12:10; 12:28-

30).  The primary use of the gift of tongues is for the

edification of the church (Acts. 2:2-4; 19:6).  Tongues (prayer

language) are given to the believer for personal edification

(Acts 12:2, 4a).
